CHAS Dental Subsidy Enhancements from October 2025 — What Patients Should Know

Starting 1 October 2025, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will introduce enhancements to the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) that aim to improve affordability and transparency for dental care across Singapore.

CHAS Orange card holders will now be eligible for subsidies on ten preventive dental procedures. At the same time, subsidy caps will increase for seven restorative procedures for all CHAS cardholders, including Pioneer Generation (PG), Merdeka Generation (MG), CHAS Blue, and CHAS Orange.

This means patients can enjoy better financial support for both regular check-ups and more complex treatments. There would be no more cash out for the treatments covered under the CHAS scheme, and the treatment would be fully subsidised.

All CHAS dental clinics will be required to display fee benchmarks for 18 common procedures clearly within the clinic. These benchmarks serve as a helpful reference so patients can better understand what a fair cost looks like and make informed decisions about their care.

From 1 September 2026, clinics must submit a clinical explanation if they charge above the published fee benchmarks. This ensures that pricing remains reasonable and aligned with patients’ needs.

From mid-2026, eligible Singaporeans will be able to use Flexi-MediSave for selected dental treatments such as root canal therapy and permanent crowns. Clinics will need to be accredited under the Flexi-MediSave scheme in order to support these claims. The Dental Studio will be onboard in time to ensure continued access to these benefits.
