Dr Lynette Ng, the Director of The Dental Studio, envisioned a dental clinic that would go beyond traditional practices. After spending almost a decade as a dental specialist in a public hospital, she realized that the primary focus in her previous role was on procedures rather than the patients themselves. Driven by her passion for transforming this outlook, Dr Ng founded TDS with the goal of dispelling the fear often associated with dental visits. She aimed to create a space where “gentle dentistry” was more than just a tagline – it was the core ethos of the practice.
TDS offers a comprehensive range of dental services, covering everything from from routine general dentistry through to specialist treatments such as periodontics (gum disease), orthodontics (braces & aligners), prosthodontics (veneers, implants, crowns and bridges), oral surgery (wisdom tooth extraction) as well as dental emergencies & urgent care. However, what sets the clinic apart is its boutique approach. Unlike many other dental practices, TDS emphasizes a personalized touch. The clinic’s team makes it a point to provide direct communication with patients, whether through personal calls, emails, or concierge services that accommodate even the busiest schedules. This commitment to personalized care has helped TDS carve out a niche in a highly competitive market.

To celebrate this achievement, the clinic hosted a year-long photo booth event, where patients could take pictures with their dentists and express their thoughts and wishes. This initiative was not just a celebration of longevity but also a testament to the strong relationships that the clinic has built with its clients over the years.
TDS is deeply committed to giving back to society. The clinic participates in several charitable initiatives, including the “Smiles For Good” program at Mount Alvernia Hospital, where it provides free dentures to individuals from low-income families or those experiencing financial difficulties. Over the past 17 years, both as a company and individually, Dr Ng and her team have also supported animal welfare through ACRES and actively participated in children’s charities like Radion by offering free dental services upon request.

Dr Ng envisions TDS becoming even more innovative, integrating holistic care into its paediatric services and incorporating more advanced digital workflows in procedures like smile rebuilding and implant surgeries.

The clinic conducts bimonthly stock reviews to manage costs effectively without compromising patient care and engages in regular competitor analysis to ensure the use of the best materials and practices. Additionally, TDS places a strong emphasis on staff training, requiring 20 hours of professional development annually to keep the team updated on the latest in dental care.
